connecton failed

I am at work and trying to use logmein for first time.  Worked when I used it at home connected via the same router (one wired/one wireless connection).

this is what I get when trying to get the PC desktop to apprear:

A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host.
Error code: 10065.

Tried to search the forums but could not find anything with similar error code/wording.

Is my host PC down?  Or is it something else.  Maybe it is being blocked from work?  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks!

RE: connecton failed

ActiveX cannot contact your computer.

Switch to Java mode, Preferences > Remote Control Settings, change the "Default Remote Control" to Java.

RE: connecton failed

OK, tried Java, but here is what happens now:

Failed to connect socket...
Tring to connect through HTTP tunnel
HTTP Tunnel connected
Negotiating SSL
Host SSL certificate verified
server:connected
Authenticating
connection refused
failed to start remote control process: 997
Disconnected

Is there something else I can try?  Is the problem at the host end or my PC at work?

Thanks for your suggestions!

RE: connecton failed

Are there any virus programs or firewalls on the computer you are trying to connect to ?

They could be refusing the connection.  Try to disable them and see if you can connect.  If so, you have to tell them to allow LMI.

I think it may also be that your system at work is preventing the connection.

RE: connecton failed

997 can be solved one of two ways.

1: Reboot target machine

2: Load the Beta Version from our Labs site

RE: connecton failed

Hi,

I got this message on my client when trying to control remote host. I tried uninstall by "add/remove program" and reinstall LogmeIn again. It doesn't help. I tried searching reason code and error code from support site but found not much related one. Anyone can help?

RE: connecton failed

I just want to verify that you are getting a 997 error ?

Did you reload with the BETA version ?

Re: RE: connecton failed

Hi All.
I have this problem I think this is to do with Kaspersky internet security 2009.
Log me in works fine if I completely stop kaspersky. Not just the  firewall part either, the whole thing has to be disabled as there are so many settings to set in kaspersky i just dont have the time to find out which switch to flick

its a bit bad tho. you have to disable the security in order for applications to work. :(

I'm going over to kaspersky now to find out more. will post here if i find anything...

Re: RE: connecton failed

I'm getting the same error when I try connecting with IE7...

Connection failed.
error:14090086:lib(20):func(144):reason(134)

Just started a week ago, had no problems for a year or so.

If I connect with Google Chrome, i connect ok!

Suggestions?
