LogMeIn Free will no longer be available starting January 21, 2014. We will begin gradually migrating users of LogMeIn and Ignition-branded remote access offerings to a paid-only account-level subscription of LogMeIn Pro.
Account-level subscriptions of LogMeIn Pro include our signature remote access to two or more computers, as well as mobile apps for Android and iOS, desktop apps for Mac and Windows, and premium features like remote printing, the ability to manage and transfer cloud and local files, and more. We believe that, with this change, our customers will have the best desktop, cloud and mobile access experience available in the market today.
In order to continue using remote access, you will need to purchase an account-level subscription of LogMeIn Pro. You will have the option to choose a subscription that meets your needs based on the number of computers you want to access. Take advantage of special introductory offers in the coming weeks by logging into your account at LogMeIn.com for pricing information and offer details.
Please note that LogMeIn Central customers will not be impacted by this change. This change does not impact the free versions of Cubby and join.me.
We recognize that this change will impact a large percentage of our users and that there may be questions and concerns. You can find the answers to the most common questions here and join the discussion in the thread below. Our staff will be dedicated to supporting you throughout this transition.
The LogMeIn Team
We’ve heard a couple common questions around Ignition and the notification period, and wanted to provide some clarity. Please see below:
For owners of LogMeIn Ignition for iPad/iPhone and LogMeIn Ignition for Android
While customers who purchased these apps are impacted by this change, we have taken steps to be especially attentive to these customers. LogMeIn Ignition for iPad/iPhone and Android app purchasers will receive significant discounts, as well as generous terms to ease the transition. Details of these offers are being sent to Ignition mobile users this week, both via email and in-product notifications.
Impacted users will be notified via email and in-product messages. While messaging started today, users will be given 7 days to make a purchase decision about LogMeIn Pro. To be clear, the 7-day grace period starts when you next login to the LogMeIn service.
Maybe it's worth the price for business users, IT solutions, etc, but for a casual personal user, connecting to one home computer in my lunch break... it's not worth it. I understand you're a business, so obviously need to make a profit, but I'm not, and for what I use it for... Not gonna happen.
So byebye LogMeIn. It's been fun and I'll miss you, but I guess it's time to move on and give one of the other numerous free alternatives a try.
