Re: Invite Users is MISSING?

Hi

This trick did it for me as well until last week. Now the ManageUesers link doesn't offer the add new user button anymore.

Frustrating after so many years of a great service, that the terms were changed. Not cool at all!!!! Especially that you weren't notify about the new policy.

Anyway, was a good free product until now I don't know what I do next.

Bye

Re: Invite Users is MISSING?

I agree. At least they could have notified everyone using LMI Free. I have recommended their product to about 14 other companies who signed up for the paid version for those additional capablities.

I mainly used it troubleshoot those clients machines. Many times these are new clients, but it looks like this will no longer be so, since the service is no longer free. Obviously whatever solution I find and use will be what I recommend to clients. Why steer people to a service I no longer use and can't easily support.

It seems like a really bad move on their part. I don't think they though about this too much.

Re: Invite Users is MISSING?

Agreed with above.  I had just deployed my first LogMeIn backup (a paid product) and had planned to use an obfuscation of added usres (I only needed one, really) to help me deploy more installs of that.  I'm just too small to afford a $300 subscription for LogMeIn Central.  I have to eat, you know.  Now I have to start all my research for a sufficient product all over again.  If anyone knows of any decent online backup & remote control solution that are easy to deploy and affordable to the very small business like myself, please share!

Re: Invite Users is MISSING?

Big corporate greed at work here.  Since LogMeIn went public this summer now they have to appease stock holders every quarter and the expense of long time customers.  Wait it will only get worse.  I'm dropping ALL of my accounts and going else where even if I have to pay somewhere esle.  Dropping functionality from what was in the free versions was a **bleep**ty move by management.  Just because of that move I will NEVER do business with this company again.

Re: Invite Users is MISSING?

Maybe someone from logmein can explain exactly what is going on.  I just noticed as well that my free accounts can no longer on users to access their computers.  I do have one customer that is a pro users, not central, and they can still add users.  So what product gives us the ability to add users under our account?

Hi lagreca, I'll let you catch up on this previous post to the Community. It should answer your questions. After you've read this, let me know. I'd like to close this thread to avoid further confusion.

Re: Invite Users is MISSING?

For the record, the "add a secondary users" feature was taken away unless you pay $299 for a Central account.  Current pro users that started a free central trial, will continue to recieve central for the rest of their paid subscription period.  At that point, if they want to add secondary users, they will have to pay the $299 for a Central account.

I realize Logmein needs to make money, but the way in which these features were removed was not right.  You should have notified your customers what was going on before, instead of have them find the feature missing one day.

Also, $299 is a bit steep for most of my clients, just to have a secondary user feature.  I have no other option but to find an cheaper alternative.

Good luck with your new business model.
