Re: Nokia 5800 and Logmein problem

Thx for your time and work.

It works with S60 5th Edition on Nokia N97, but I can´t work on the remote screen (with Opera Mini or Internal Browser).

Something happens when you put the pen on the screen, but only reload the remote screen.

More helps and hints would be great.

Apologies for bumping an old thread, but I found a potential solution to this problem on the Spanish forum.

Here is what it said::

I had the same problem with the Opera Mini browser and 5800.

1) Use the browser of the 5800

2) Login to logmein normally

3) Select the computer you want to connect to

4) When the page goes blank at this address https://secure.logmein.com/connect_axtest.asp change it to this one:

https://secure.logmein.com/connect_mozilla.asp

This forces logmein to avoid using ActiveX and uses the Java plugin instead.

[my translation from the spanish]

Note the above is untested by me as I don't have a 5800 yet , but found this while I was researching it.

If anyone tries this, I would appreciate a quick reply to let me know if this works, as that may sway me towards getting a 5800.

Thanks

Its working my 5800XM with opera mini thx  :D

Re: Nokia 5800 and Logmein problem

Good to hear that.

One question though. Are you able to use the 'keyboard' by bringing up a 'virtual one' on the touchscreen. Or are you just able to click on the items on screen with the stylus.

Reason I'm asking is that I've heard some people can get to see the remote screen, so I would love to know if you've managed to actually interact with the remote PC.

Re: Nokia 5800 and Logmein problem

This is exactly the same problem that I have. I can see the remote screen, but anytime Itouch it it will refresh the view. Also sending keyborad functions doesn´t work. Any keyborad function of my N97 (S60 5th) has the same effect.

Re: Nokia 5800 and Logmein problem

I have created a bookmark for the the URL.

It works til the point of sending any keyboard sign.

Next step is to bring me in the position of working on the remote desktop.

Re: Nokia 5800 and Logmein problem

Hello Members, sorry for butting in like this....but i'm hoping a member may have the answer

i tried to use my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic mobile, and i found that i'm getting to the WindowsXP users account login screen of the computer, if i then click onto an account name the screen enlarges and the password box opens, but if i click onto the empty password box neither nokia's inbuilt keyboard or Opera's Mobile browser keyboard won't open, also the whole page seems to refresh when somethings clicked on.

The Nokia is fully updated, with the latest OS version and Opera Mobile browser version.

Any help would be grateful

kind regards

Re: Nokia 5800 and Logmein problem

Just to update...

I've manage to log into the WindowsXP accout from the 5800, i found that if i clicked onto the Windows account password feild this would show the a text 'prompt' line inside the box.

I then found that tapping onto the white box feild with the 'Send' button in the Logmein settings and options bar, Nokiai's inbuilt keyboard then opened this allowed me to enter the password into this box, and by clicking onto 'Send' button , would send what i had just entered to the Windows account password field i had previously made active.

I don't see why the way of entering text in this manner, doesn't apply right across the desktop being remoted onto.

Also, it appears that if there was someway to stop the webpage from being refreshed by having to be rebuilt the webpage before it could be enlarged , but just refreshing while the webpage is in it's enlarged state would help.

Hope this info is of use .
