Versioning

Hello,

I'm having a curious problem where I'm getting incosistent reports of the versions of LMI intalled on machines.  For example, my laptop's Control Panel reports LMI's version as v4.1.1578, but the LogMeIn app from the systray reports, 4.1.0.1890.

Regedit, in HKLM\Software\V5\ I have several entries, @InstalledBuild is 1578, @ProductVersion=4.1.1890 and InstalledVersion as 4.1.1578

We're using Labtech as our RMM tool, and running raupdate against hundreds of machines daily, and all report an (via installed programs) various and sundry versions of the LMI as installed on these machines.  When I've spot-checked the machines, the systray app always reports 4.1.0.1890.

Anybody have any insight into what is going on with the disparate versions?  Is raupdate not updating registry entries properly?  Does anybody else see this behavior?

Re: Versioning

I'm definitely running 1980 on my corporate desktop.

It does as you say report the installed build as 1578 in both Control Panel "Programs and Features" and the registry, however it's definitely 1890 as I've had the UAC bug which isn't present in until 1890.

Also Windows patch management didn't come in until 1848 so if you have patch management then you must be at least 1848 so on that basis Waton I'd say you're on 1890.

I use central as the definitive list of versions.

Re: Versioning

I'm seeing the same thing.  Here is the topic I started.

To get around this I uninstall the previous version completely then reinstall.  It isn't ideal as it nukes group memberships, but it is better than my software inventory saying multiple versions are installed.

I may just go back to custom installers for each group I want.
