"Blank the host's monitor" option removed from FREE?

A checkbox option for "Blank the host's monitor" appeared on the Security tab of preferences in previous versions of LogMeIn Free for Windows. This option appears to hae been removed from the latest version. Is this correct or was it simply relocated? Thanks.

Re: "Blank the host's monitor" option removed from FREE?

I can't see that forum board ... i.e., "board.id=nextgenboard"

Has access to that board been removed?

Regarding the original poster's question, has the "Blank the host's monitor" option been removed from FREE?

How can the blank option be disabled in a LMI FREE install that was originally set to blank if the "Blank the host's monitor" option can no longer be seen in the updated LMI FREE GUI ...?

The option to disable the host monitor has now been moved from the Host preferences to Options once you have taken remote control of the computer. Once you are connected to the computer click Options and check the box off for Blank Screen.

Makes sense ...!

I noticed that a few things were moved from the web interface preferences GUI to the client's local setup. I didn't think to look there.

Thanks Sean!!

Re: "Blank the host's monitor" option removed from FREE?

I must be the only one that doesn't see the Black Screen checkbox. I logged into my remote computer, opened the LogMeIn "Control Panel" and clicked on Options to the left of the window. The only buttons I see are Preferences and Connect and Event Details. If I go into Preferences, I don't see the Black Screen checkbox in any of the three tabs (General, Security, Advanced). I also ran the "check for updates" option but my client is running the latest version. Can someone take a screenshot of where the Blank Screen checkbox is?

Thanks!!

Peter,

You know, I didn't get around to checking the Options for a LMI Free account until I saw your post.

It turns out you're not the only one who can't find it ... :-(

Sean, can you take another look at your copy of LMI Free and provide the exact steps you followed to find the "Blank the host's monitor" option?

Thanks!

Click the Options button in the Remote Control Ribbon, and Blank Screen is all the way on the left. If it is not there, you cannot enable it on that system (usually so on Mac's)

"Click the Options button in the Remote Control Ribbon ..."

Ah, the ribbon ...!  I thought you meant the LMI options from the LMI icon in the system tray!!

Problem solved then since I saw it right away.

Thank-you Sean!!!

Peter,

Were you able to find that option in the ribbon at the top of a logged in session on another PC (i.e., not your own)?

Like you, I checked the LMI control panel that comes up when double-clicking the LMI icon in the system tray. That's not it.

Cheers!
