"LogMeIn setup wizard ended prematurely", Windows 7 Starter

I receive the above error when attempting to install LMI on Win 7 Starter so I can access my netbook remotely.

Has anyone come across this before?

Welcome to the Community and thank you for your question!

You can try a command line install as an alternative method of adding the computer to your account.

Downloading the software:
  1. Download the installer zip file from: https://secure.logmein.com/logmein.zip.
  2. Save the zip file to your desktop.
  3. Right-click the zip file once downloaded, and select Extract to... (if you have a 3rd party extraction program, such as Winzip or WinRAR, you may use that also).
  4. Extract the files to C:\LMI (you may need to create this folder on your C: drive).

In Windows Vista or Windows 7

  1. Click on Start, and in the Search bar type: cmd.
  2. Right-click cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator.
  3. The command prompt window will open.

32-bit Windows 2000, XP, Vista , or 7

  1. Type cd C:\lmi\x86 and hit Enter.
  2. You should now be in the C:\lmi\x86 directory.
  3. Type logmein install and hit Enter.

64-bit Windows XP, Vista, or 7

  1. Type cd C:\lmi\x64 and hit Enter.
  2. You should now be in the C:\lmi\x64 directory.
  3. Type logmein install and hit  Enter.
Note:
If you are unsure about your Operating System type (32-bit or 64-bit), right-click on Computer and choose Properties.  On the system properties window, look for System Type.

You will receive a message that install was successful.  Close the command prompt window and click Open LogMeIn on the message that appears, and follow the steps to assign the computer to your LogMeIn account.

Re: "LogMeIn setup wizard ended prematurely", Windows 7 Starter

Hi Joshua,

Your command line solution worked perfectly.

But why did the LogMeIn.msi install file I'd downloaded previously not work on Win 7 Starter? Was it to do with not having run the file with Admin priiviledges on this particular version on the OS?

Regards,

Re: "LogMeIn setup wizard ended prematurely", Windows 7 Starter

I am having this problem now. However, I have tried to remove any and all files I could fine, I did the thing with the Register edit, there were NO Hamachi files there at all (This includes any Logmein files as well) and I also tried to test above with no sucess. I was able to load into LogMeIn pro but was unable to get Hamachi to host or join servers. I am to the point now that I will prob end up reformatting my computer and wiping it all clean just to fix this problem so I can play Terraria with my friends again...

Help plz?

I am running Windows 7 64x

3.6 ghz AMD quad core

650g Hard drive  7200rpm

8G ram

Radeon 6770

let me know if u need more info
