Hamachi 2 network driver failing to run correctly

I am running windows 7 X64 build 7600 and Hamachi 2 is not running correctly.

I do have this error from a system maintenance report

Error

Symptom: Device is not working properly; Windows cannot load the required device drivers.
Cause: A device has a configuration problem that prevents it from working properly.
Details: The device, Hamachi Network Interface, is reporting "tv_ConfigMgrErr31". This device will not be available until the issue is resolved. The Plug and Play ID for this device is ROOT\NET\0000.
Resolution: 1. Verify the correct driver is installed.
2. Try updating the drivers using Windows Update.
3. Check with the manufacturer for an updated driver.
4. Attempt to uninstall and then reinstall the device using Device Manager.

Hamachi 2 installs just fine but does not load correctly.

Windows 7 is an upgrade from Vista

I had a similar problem with STPD and I had to edit some registry keys and reboot and then delete the keys and then install the software again. And that worked fine for STPD.

I am not sure if there is a similar procedure for Hamachi 2 as well. I do know that after some research on Windows 7 there is a problem with it removing permissions rights to registry keys when you do an upgrade.

I have exactly the same problem after Windows Vista SP3 update to Windows 7.
