Hamachi Tunneling Service Stops Unexpectedly

HI,

A couple of times a week the Hamachi Tunneling Service stops unexpectedly with no errros posted in the event logger.   The server is Windows 2003 SBS.

Any help on how to resolve this problem would be great.

Thanks,

Jerry

Re: Hamachi Tunneling Service Stops Unexpectedly

I just had the same issue on the same box (SBS 2003). Any ideas? The event viewer logs just say that it stopped unexpectedly. Does Hamachi keep a log file that I can inspect?

Re: Hamachi Tunneling Service Stops Unexpectedly on SBS 2003

Yes, I've seen this repeatedly - sometimes several times per week.

My workaround is to set the Tunneling Engine to restart automatically after 5 seconds whenever it crashes. This does not seem to cause any other problems on the server.

To set this, go to Administrative Tools > Services and open the Properties for LogMeIn Hamachi Tunneling Service. Select the Recovery tab. Set the action on each of First, Second and Subsequent failures to Restart the Service.

Caution! These options are reset to Do Nothing whenever Hamachi is updated to a new point version. I have not looked into a way to automating this but it might possibly be done using a registry script or the 'net' command.

(This thread is a little old but I hope this advice is useful to someone. Comments are welcome.)
