Relayed tunnel problems

Hello all,

While trying to use hamachi 2 I was able to connect for the first one or two times I used it, but now I can't connect to anything.  I consistently get the dreaded blue dot or a red dot.  I've tried messing with the settings a bit but no luck, I set everything back to how it was originally and still nothing, I've uninstalled and told it to delete my user data then reinstalled (but even though I had it remove my user data it was still logging back into the group I was in?) about 10-15 times and nothing has changed.  Does anyone know how I can fix this?  It's extremely aggravating.

Thanks

Re: Relayed tunnel problems

Hi,

We have an article that touches on what you can do to correct relayed connections:

http://lmine.ws/fIlviK

Also, if you happen to be trying to use Hamachi behind a Sonic Wall:

http://lmine.ws/eyhjPN

If neither of those help, try going to whatismyip.com on both clients. Then try to "traceroute" to the other client using the IP of that client you retrieved from whatismyip.com. Look in the trace routes for any commonalities. If you see a lot of latency or drops at a particular hop. That is probably where your problem is.

If you happen to need it, here is a an explanation of traceroute:

Hope this helps!

Re: Relayed tunnel problems

Unfortunately nothing is working and the program won't even start anymore.  I've given up on this program, every programs' #1 goal should be user friendliness.  This program fails terribly at that unfortunately.

Re: Relayed tunnel problems, but only for one computer

I have several computers at home and several at work (Hamachi is only for personal use though). At home they are all behind the same router, at work they are all on the same network, behind I am not sure what (router/firewall). Most are now on Win7, and I have one Linux server at home.

What is strange is that all my computers are green, desktops, netbooks, laptops, except my main desktop at work. It's been like this for a long time, both XP, then upgraded to Windows 7, several iterations of Hamachi - since I have never been able to figure out what the problem could be. I thought I'd give it another try by asking a question here, in case anyone has any advice? All my Win7 computers are configured pretty much the same way.

Is there some way to figure out what prevents just this one computer from connecting directly?

Thanks.

Re: Relayed tunnel problems, but only for one computer

My previous post was not entirely accurate:

My direct connection problem is between two specific computers, one at work and one at home. Both computers appear green on any other computer than those two (both locally and between work and home), but the connection between these two computers is always relayed. Both are Win7.
