Re: Stuck on resolving - Mac OS X 10.6.5 Hamachi 2.0.1.23

I have been experiencing this same "stuck on resolving" issue for a good three weeks now. I have tried the suggested fix at least 10 different times, and it has yet to solve the problem; I am very annoyed! It worked flawlessly for a good week or two and then one day I was trying to connect with some friends and I kept getting booted from the network. So, here I am. I just don't know what to do (except give up and maybe find another VPM solution). Does anyone have any further insight?

Re: This Solution Works!

1) Uninstall hamachi using the uninstaller

2) Go into Library/Application Support and drag out the Log me in Hamachi folder (or just delete it)

3) Reinstall Hamachi

Thanks to earthsaver and nikeunitd! After almost a year of not having hamachi work on 1 of my 4 macs, this solution has fixed it.

Re: This Solution Works!

No luck for me.

Here's what I tried:

1) Uninstalled using uninstaller

2) Removed the "Login Hamachi" Application Preference folders from both the User and System Library folders

3) Set all network interfaces except one (Ethernet) to inactive  - just in case my Virtual Adapters for Fusion were causing grief.

4) re-installed.

No luck.

It's very odd because I can take a VM running on the same machine and it works great.  It's just the host machine that fails to connect (the VM client is not running when I try all this).  So I am quite certain it is not the local or corporate firewall causing an issue.

I am anxious to find a solution as I am hoping to demonstrate this to a client and steer them towards purchasing the commercial version, but can't really do that if I can't fix this issue (the last thing I want is this hiccup in a production environment).

It really seems like a name resolution issue to me.  I'm going try to uninstall everything, remove pref files, reboot to clear any caches, and then try again.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately SNAPTechnology, I have no way of recreating your issue to try to find a solution. If you are not gettting any helpful responds, I appologize. I moved this issue to the top of the forum, hoping some real tech sees your issue.

Re: This Solution Works!

Oh - not to worry.  I am hammering away at it and hope to figure it out. I'll certainly post any results I get here.

It certainly is a hard one to crack though.  It worked so seamlessly on my other systems (Mac/Win7, Bare/VMs)  - it just seems very odd that one machine won't work.  The thing is - a VM on the machine works.

I've also isolated it to the Machine config. It also fails if I try it under a different user account.

In my case, it indicates that it resolves, but then hangs on connecting.

I'll happily share any progress I make, but am not sure where to try next.

Re: This Solution Works!

So I took a look at the logs and it seems to be having problems opening files in the Application Support folder - odd.

So I can't really figure this one out.  Anyone have an idea of why those files might not be available?  I have deleted and re-created them via an install, tried a different user account, and even did a permission repair on my system (it didn't report any problems with these folders).

In theory, this product would be ideal for a client I have, but it's starting to look like I'll have to do a hardware solution instead - I must be able to ensure proper service to my client.

Okay - so it seems I am resolving, then connecting, then.... boom!  Offline I go.  So what could the issue be?  What is error 3?

Anyone from Logmein Tech here?

Re: This Solution Works!

Well - I think I'm done.  I removed ALL LogMeIn references, and programs and attempted a clean install.  It still resolves, but fails to connect.  It won't allow me to enter a network and "manually" join, won't allow a deployment join, etc, etc.

At this point, I have to put this into my "look at it later" bucket and start searching for an alternate solution.  :(

I was looking forward to offering this to my clients though.  Does anyone here have a Pro Subscription?  I'm going to contact Sales and see if I can purchase a PRO product, get some technical support and go from there.  Ideally, I want to demo on my account and then move the demo (once tested) into my clients hands.
