total newb needs HELP

I downloaded logmein last night on my home computer.  My intent is to be able to access the internet from work. When I got to work and logged in it shows my computer at home, but i don't understand how I connect to it.  Do I need to be logged in on my home computer or does it just need to be truned on???  Logmein says my home computer is disconnected.  What am I missing?

Both computers must be on the internet to remotely access the PC.
