Logmein Catalina update administrator
Hello I recently updated a users mac via logmein to OSX Catalina and after the computer rebooted its asking to start the install of logmein again. When i remote into the computer i can only see the background image and the top toolbar but when i click on something nothing happens. This user doesnt have admin access and i'd rather not give them admin username and pass to install logmein again. Is there any way around this? Hi We are experiencing the same issue when using LogmeIn for clients on 10.14 or 10.15 from machines using macOS 10.13 (Siera) or lower. The remote connection is made but the remote display is all dark - no video. On some occasions teh Finder Menu bar is visable but you can not see the pulldown menu items. Can someone at LogMeIn please provide the Community with difinitive instructions on how to deal with this issue? Or anyone from the Community if you know the workaround / fix please chime in. These newer OS versions use a different Graphics Engine (SW) and are 64-bit. Older version are not 64-bit. Prehaps the issues is related to these technical changes in teh OS. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank youWFAutomation5 years agoNew Member492Views0likes0CommentsMac OS 10.15 (Catalina)
I have a group of newer Mac mini workstations. (all were purchased at the same time) they came with 10.13 and were upgraded to 10.14. Logmein worked fine with these versions. However, after performing the upgrade to 10.15, When I initiate a remote session, I get the background and top menu, but no windows, dock or dropdowns from the topbar menu. This is either something that has not been tested by the folks at Logmein, or I have something set wrong across all 9 workstatons.... Logging in to a remote computer works well, but I've noticed that sometimes when I connect, the "Log in to" field is either set to blank, or set to the local computer name. Big fan of LMI. Long time user. We've acquired a new company that has their own IT Director, that has concerns about the security of their network while using LMIC on their network. I'm very well versed in the typical security points LMIC will point me to, such as, MFA for user access, monitoring, alerts etc. The real question that I didnt know how to answer was, what is the exposure to a company network, by an employee that uses LMI to connect from their home computer? Forgetting all the user intentional misusing the system. I mean things like if there's a virus, or worse a worm, on a remote users machine, can it gain access to our network?MagnaWalt5 years agoNew Member352Views0likes0CommentsAlerts - Feature Request Limit Duplicate Alert Emails
I would like the feature to set a limit on the number of duplicate emails sent when an alert is triggered within each alert rule. For example I have a windows event type rule to logsystem alerts and email my support team for event ID 7. If a computer has a bad block this event could fire every 1 minute for the same computer. We can usually turn around and replace a bad hardrive in 48 hours. That's alot of alets between that time! 1 notification a day for this alert trigger would be plenty. A feature were we can limit the number of notifications would be awesome. This would also reduce API calls for and email traffic for the LogMeIn Team I imagine. I hope you will consider this request. I ran the deployment batch script start /wait msiexec.exe /i {my directory}\LogMeIn.msi /quiet DEPLOYID={my deploy ID} INSTALLMETHOD=5 LMIDescription={my computer description} to install LogMeInControl Panel. After the script was run, the LogMeIn Control Panel came up and running and the computer was remotely accessible on LogMeIn Central with correct computer description. I then ran the same script to a different computer with a different computer description. The second computer was remotely accessible on LogMeIn Central as well. However, after a few minutes, LogMeIn Control Panel from the first computer logged itself off and the computer just completely disappeared from LogMeIn Central. I double checked the installation package and made sure "Unlimited" is checked for "Installations allowed" "Expiration date" has "never expires" checked "Allow users to change the computer description during installation" is also checked. And we just added 500 more licenses two days ago and still have more than 400 remaining. LogMeIn Tasks in "Downloading" State Forever
We have seen this occuring at our organization for as long as we have had LogMeIn. When trying to run a task to install a product (Whether it be EXE or MSI) the download sits for 24 hours and never completes. It never gets past the downloading piece of the task. Never goes into installing status. We've asked Support to take a look and they have not been able to find a cause. It doesn't appear to be our network as we've tried to run these tasks on multiple locations and on user's laptops that were on their home networks. It seems to be an issue with LogMeIn's network or some issue when the file is fetched from wherever the application packages reside. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
