Central running poorly
Hey All, So been running Logmein Central for just over a year now and recently added all of the additional packages. Am I the only one that is noticing that it is all running like garbage? I have about 60 end points and logging into any of them (multiple locations all with high speed internet) takes ages and seems super laggy. Add to that the Windows Update portion seems to be only working when it wants to with some users not getting any updates, other uses getting their updates but no reboots and some users getting some but not all updates. Everything seemed to be working fine and stable but a few months ago it all started slowing down. Of course you get the usual "restart and reboot" response from tech support which is about as helpful and an underwater hair dryer. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this. Seems like I am paying a pretty penny for a platform that is laggy and sporadic. I can retrieve a list of our users with no problem, however i need to be able to CREATE and DELETE users as part of a python integration that I am building to automate user management. I have LogMeIn Antivirus deployed on several workstations. We have an external vendor that performs vulnerability scans with their externally located appliance. How can I see if LogMeIn Antivirus/firewall is blocking connections from their appliance? I have whitelisted the IPs within Windows Defender with the hopes that that would carry over to LMI AV but I don't have a way to verify it. Hi We have LogMeIn Central on approx. 2500 PC's that we support the majorty of which are connected to a Windows AD. The update that's been pushed out 3-4 weeks ago is requesting Admin credentials which is a first. The majority of users on our connected PC's don't have local Admin rights so can't install the update. Therefore we're facing having to manually update around 2000 PC's. We've tried pushing out a new .msi file with GPO but that just seems to reinstall the version they already have installed and it still requests the update! I'm reaching the community because I was trying to use the Hamachi VPN with VBAN (Audio Network Connection) that connects via LAN with other devices to receive and send audio via UDP. It works perfectly with LAN, almost no lag and audio cuts, yet when I switched to Hamachi VPN it started to lag a lot, couldn't hear the audio at all. Tried reducing the audio quality to the lowest possible, but no difference. Is there any solution to my problem? When you look at the executive reporting, a lot of PCs show as unpatched due to the driver updates that may be outstanding. These driver updates are listed under the "important updates" which really throws things off. How are people approaching this for client side reporting? Microsoft divides driver updates into their own category, but for some reason LMI groups them into "important updates" and hence the reporting reflecting poorly on us MSPs. We have "silent mode" enabled on a few of our LogMeIn Antivirus policies. Thus, we cannot open the LogMeIn AV application on PCs that have silent mode enabled. Often, I need to initiate a scan on one of the PCs that have silent mode enabled. When I initiate a scan through the Admin portal, the scans never run. Or, the Admin Console never reports that a scan has run. After initiating a full scan, I leave a PC on for hours. Again, the Admin portal never reports that a scan has been run. We are using the latest version of LogMeIn on our Windows 10 PCs (4.1.0.14344). This problem is present in older versions of LogMeIn as well. With that said, is there a way I can initiate a scan on a PC that has silent mode itself by using a command line or something like this? I'm still not able to enable remote printing on one PC. Printer is installed on a W10 Laptop and works fine. I checked this printer in the LMI client options (Remote Printer). But I cant' see this printer in the Word / Excel printer list on the host! I didn't anything on the host PC. Should I? It works fine with an other Remote PC / Client... Users cannot open links that were sent to them inside email. The page loads and says not found or disconnected. However, I was able to open the page with the same policy applied. The only way the user can use the site is to add the site to exclusion list one at a time. I am using logmein on a Mac laptop and at the moment I am having some issues with my mouse. The cursor does not change to reflect the tool I am using, e.g.: while working on photoshop, revit or writing text, the pointer is always the same. How does the Reports section get the information from all the systems? Specifically Software -> Installed Programs. I'm asking this because I have been investigating some malware on company computers. It's one that doesn't hide itself, but installs and leaves an install entry in Windows. I pull the report and I see new people on the list with this installed. When I look at the install date they are not new. They've had the infection for months. I hope my question makes sense. Remote connect from dual monitor Mac to dual monitor PC
I have many users connecting to their dual monitor office PCs (Windows 10) from dual monitor home PCs - myself included -without difficulty. I just enable Multi Monitor in display options and then drag the two resulting Logmein windows to each of my home monitors. I have a new user with a dual monitor Mac at home and she seems unable to get the multi monitor functionality to work. I have a user with multiple monitors, connecting to their PC in the office from home with multiple monitors, which displays fine on each monitor, but is unable to drag from the primary monitor to the secondary/tertiary monitors. They can drag from secondary/tertiary to primary, without any issue. When not connected to their remote PC, dragging works fine across the extended desktop on the monitors. To further complicate things, when I connect to their home setup, using only one monitor, I can drag between the multiple LMI windows, which represent the monitors, without any issue. I can't seem to find any information on others having this or similar issue. I upgraded 2 endpoints from Office 2010 to Office 2016 on the morning of 2/13/21. After the installations completed, I used the Central's Updates | Windows to select the 2 machines and then Check for Updates (after setting the machines to Download Updates for Windows and Other Microsoft software). After the check seemed to complete, there were no updates selectable for Office 2016 on these two units. I checked back a couple times over the weekend (the units were online the entire time), but still no updates were available. Monday morning (2/15/21) when I checked again, then there were something like 175 updates available for these two machines, the vast majority of which were for Office 2016. The updates seemingly installed fine at that point. This is a problem because if I run a scan from the admin portal and see threats I need to be able to go to the machine and investigate/mitigate. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Share My Desktop rights
Since LogMeIn support seems to have fallen apart, I thought I would ask the community about rights to use the "share my desktop" feature. Some users can and others cannot access this feature. It is greyed out for some. I'm trying to determine where it is that I configure access for this feature. I'm not finding any reference to this is the user guide. Hi, everyone, We have a user who can see his printers listed in the Options > Remote Printing list, but they are unavailable when he tries to print something from an application (Adobe, Word, etc.). I verified that there is a check mark next to the printer so it is selecte properly, but still nothing. We have tried various scripts to update our user's registry but the scripts seem to always run in the context of the account that has authenticated to run the script. This is less than ideal. Is there a way, with a variable or something else to update the actual HKCU values for the user on that computer vs making edits to the registry in the context of the account that's been authenticated to run the script? All, This is all via the LogMeIn site and the software opened when connecting to a site. I've enabled my machine as a trusted device for LogMeIn so I do not have to sign in and that works for a week or so, but eventually stops trusting my machine and makes me enter me credentials once again, as well as select the "trust this device" checkbox. Is there a period you remain trusted? Is it possible to extend that period? Also, another issue is say I connect to a machine for 10 minutes, do what is necessary and then disconnect. I'm correctly taken to the list of machines available to me. However, say I stay on one machine for an hour and then disconnect. LogMeIn seems to have forgotten I was signed in and takes me to the login page. Work lasts much longer than an hour and I do not want to sign in 8 times a day, 1 time should be enough. How do we fix this?
