What happened to Live Q&A during Webcast/Recorded events?
Earlier this year, around February, we were running some "simulated live" test events using pre-recorded videos using the Webcast/Virtual Events options. During the tests and organizer was needed and it allowed for live moderated Q&As.
I don't see an option for live Q&A's anymore under "Recorded" or "Virtual Events" options.
Tried reverting to classic GoToWebinar and still no options for live q&a's, it only has the option for questions to get emailed to you at the end of the webcast.
Hi HelderG Welcome to the Community!
If you were running a live Q&A, it sounds like you were hosting a standard event or webcast and shared the recording.
Recorded webinar functionality allows you to engage with the content at your convenience, without needing to be available in real-time. If you prefer a live Q&A experience, you can host a live webinar and share the recording.

Hi yes, this seems to be the case.
I'm not sure if the "event types" event setting had GUI revamp since the beginning of the year, but I thought I had recalled it showing live/webcast/live events - and had thought that recorded/live events was the same option we tested with earlier this year.
It was definitely the Live--> Webcast option we tested with previously.
Thank you for the quick answer. - Conesee19467 months agoNew Member
Live Q&A during webcast/recorded events is not a standard feature in many platforms due to the nature of pre-recorded content. While some platforms offer "simulated live" options with live Q&A for a limited time, true live Q&A functionality is typically reserved for live events.
