Why is GoTo continuing to use Kaspersky products even after a warning from the US Government

EXCLUSIVE U.S. warned firms about Russia's Kaspersky software day after invasion -sources | Reuters

Not only that, but Kaspersky Software Update is a glitchy mess. Computers will randomly fill up with un-installed updates to the point where the disk becomes full. And this glitch has persisted for the past 3 years.

Absolutely ridiculous that such an expensive product as LogMeIn compromises on such a basic feature as third-party software updates.

Re: Why is GoTo continuing to use Kaspersky products even after a warning from the US Government

Hi,

GoTo replaces the provider of the Application Updates feature in Central to support more apps. From November 30, 2022, the new Application Updates software will be generally available: computers running host version 4.1.0.14892 or later will be automatically updated to use the new Application Updates software. Computers running an earlier host version will continue to use the current vendor until January 30, 2023. We recommend that you update all your computers to the latest host version to ensure a smooth transition.

Please note that on January 31, 2023, Application Updates will be disabled on computers running an older host version. On these computers, after upgrading to the latest host version, you will have to manually change application updates to "Manual" or "Automatic".

Please refer to this support article for more details: Changes to Application Updates in Central

Re: Why is GoTo continuing to use Kaspersky products even after a warning from the US Government

Hi @trustpar-jdodd

GoTo is aware of the FCCs warnings regarding Kaspersky and we are actively exploring alternative solutions to ensure business continuity. We will provide updates as plans progress. In the meantime, should you wish to remove the Kaspersky Software Updater tool, please follow these instructions.

Thank you!

Hello,

Just wondering if there has been any movement as a replacement for Kaspersky.

Thank you
