The new GoTo app defaults to installing in AppData for the user that is running the installer. Is there a method for installing it to be accessible to all users on the computer, including users that have never logged onto the computer before? Is there a different installer for that?
Hi @VKY
Yes, we do utilize the AppData folder for parts of the launcher service.
Check out the section on this support article for installing the MSI for all Windows users: https://support.goto.com/meeting/help/installation-guide-for-msi-windows-g2m080003
Hello Ash,
You are linking to the old GoToMeeting app and I am specifically inquiring about the new just "GoTo" app. I have noticed broken functionality in the old GoToMeeting and everything seems to be pushing towards to new GoTo app. Since it installs to AppData and AppData is ALWAYS in the context of a specific user, a shared computer cannot share an install of GoTo amongst users because users don't have access to others' profiles. Programs that are meant for use by all users are normally installed in Program Files or Program Files(x86). Is there an installer for the new GoTo app that installs for all users to access? If not, do you or your developers have guidance for the best way to deploy the new GoTo for a shared computer situation?
Thank you
Hi @VKY, welcome to the community.
We have a guide here for IT admins that you can reference. The support page mentions GoTo Connect but it also applies to the new GoTo App.
