Blurry Customer/Company Profile Pictures

Every time we add a picture for our technicians or customers/companies the image is distorted or blurry. Is there a guide for ensuring that these images are the appropriate size/resolution? Furthermore, why are these not automatically scaled for use with Citrix Service Desk?

Re: Blurry Customer/Company Profile Pictures

Hi Brandon,

You can upload any image size, but for the best quality it should be a .GIF, .JPG or .PNG file of at least 61 x 61 pixels. These are scaled down automatically but unfortunately that process can cause pictures to become blurry depending on their original size and shape (square vs rectangular).

Hope that helps!

Re: Blurry Customer/Company Profile Pictures

Sascha,

Thank you for the response. All images are a standard profile size (above 61 x 61) and are in *.jpg format. The image looks great here in the community forums (same exact image). But, for the Go-To-Assist Web Help Desk images are always distorted. This has been the case for multiple customer/user images. Why is there not a standard size and shape (round vs. square) across the Go-To-Assist community? Is there any practice (certain image size or shape) that is preferable to avoid this blurry aspect?

All the best,

Re: Blurry Customer/Company Profile Pictures

Hi again,

Best results are achieved when starting with a square picture and you should try to keep the starting resolution as small as possible so that there's less resizing/compressing done by the application.

As for standardizing avatars across the board, it's not always easy to do that when multiple different systems on different platforms come into play, but unifying things is an ongoing process here 🙂
