sip security for deskphones

How do I enable TCP/TLS and SRTP for communication security? I have a Grandstream deskphone already using a GoTo line through a sip account. I tried to enable TCP/TLS and SRTP without success. It seems like these features should be enabled on the server side. Can you clarify this to us? Thanks a lot.

Re: sip security for deskphones

You are right.

But I wasn't able to figure out how to make SRTP and TCP/TLS work with GoTo Connect and my Grandstream deskphone. Do you know if GoTo supports SRTP and TCP/TLS?

Thanks.

Re: sip security for deskphones

Hi @jaatavaresf,

Unfortunately, Grandstream phones are not on the list of supported devices. Secure call encryption is automatically enabled for all applicable phones.

  • This feature is supported on Cisco MPP, Polycom, and Yealink desk phones as well as our GoTo app.

Re: sip security for deskphones

Still regarding security with Grandstream deskphones, is it possible to estabilish an openvpn connection with some endpoint in GoTo or LogMeIn? If yes, it would also solve all the security questions since Grandstream phones are able to connect as an openvpn client. Can you check that?

Thanks a lot.
