Ics calendar file addition?

Hi all,

sorry if stupid beginners question... I'm scheduling my meetings in the web app - and want to add an Outlook ics file to the invite for people to save to their calendars. Is the only option then to install and use the plug-in, or is there a way to "force" and ics file in there together with the meeting details?

Hope that this is a clear enough question - otherwise happy to elaborate.

thanks in advance for any help or comment.

Best regards, Anne

Hi @ajakobsen and welcome to the community Smiley Happy

Firstly, there are no stupid questions. In order to get a calendar event you can share with your attendees, you will need to use Outlook, Google Calendar or a similar application.

Since you scheduled your meeting on the website you would copy the meeting details, create a meeting request in Outlook and then paste the meeting details into it. Installing our Outlook plug-in will let you add meeting details with just a click, so you might consider installing that for future meetings.

You can also schedule a meeting from our desktop software and it will launch an Outlook meeting request automatically.

Glenn

Can you please help. Our meeting organiser is sending meeting invites and we are receiving the emails with the meeting ID and date etc, but there is no way for us to accept or decline the meeting when we receive the email invites. We are using Apple's ical and Mail so not sure if this affects things?

Thanks

Hi @VJU100 ,

Technically, GoToMeeting calendar plugins are mainly populating a new meeting template into a triggered appointment itself.  Have you tested sending an appointment without GoToMeeting involved to see if they can be received / accepted correctly?

** This is a two part process with Mac mails, where you would see an attachment on the email invite (that you can download manually or double-click on to open):
