Outlook 2016 plugin will not install: Certificate not trusted

Name GoToMeeting Outlook Calendar Plug-in

Exception Test
System.Security.SecurityException: Customized functionality in this application will not work because the certificate used to sign the deployment manifest for GoToMeeting Outlook Calendar Plug-in or its location is not trusted.

Steps I have taken:
Installed the Visual Studio Runtime (as advised by GTM)
 Ran an office repair
 Uninstalled the Visual Studio Runtime
Deleted the 2.0 folder under %localappdata%\apps
Added the site to IE trusted sites

Nothing has helped. This is only happening to one of our users. It installs for me okay.

Re: Outlook 2016 plugin will not install: Certificate not trusted

None of the solutions above worked for me.

I just got off the phone with support and they added https://*.logmeininc.com to trusted sites and that fixed it for me.

Open Internet Explorer
Click on Menu (small gear at upper right)
Select Internet Options
Select Security tab
Select Trusted Sites
Click Sites
In Add this website to the zone: box, type https://*.logmeininc.com
Click Add
Click Close
Click OK
Reinstall plugin

Re: Outlook 2016 plugin will not install

Hi there,

The trusted site that was added, do you remember what the URL was?  I want to be sure that you were given the current one as we have had some internal domain changes recently, and the technician you worked with may have been using old data.

Re: Outlook 2016 plugin will not install

Just to make sure, the entire .vsto file should not be in your trusted sites.  That is a separate application that can be run.

Please make sure that this was done:

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click on Menu (small gear at upper right)
  3. Select Internet Options
  4. Select Security tab
  5. Select Trusted Sites
  6. Click Sites
  7. In Add this website to the zone: box, type builds.getgocdn.com
  8. Click Add
  9. Click Close
  10. Click OK
  11. Reinstall plugin

If that still does not resolve the issue, I would recommend that you Contact Us with the phone support so that they can possibly escalate a ticket up to find out what else may be the cause.

I'm using Windows 10 latest build and that is the solution I already tried: no luck

SOLVED!! I had to manually install X509 certificate issued to LogMeIn under "Trusted Publisher"
