Hamachi - Somehow has caused my friend to lose access to his D: Drive

I haven't used Hamachi in years but was trying to use it again w/ a friend to play an old game. He joined my private network and launched the game and it said he didn't have permissions to play it. Now he's completely lost admin privileges on his D drive (where the game was installed). Its extremely baffling and search results yield nothing. Here's what we've tried: 1. Kicked him out and deleted the entire private network in Hamachi itself and on the LogMeIn network manager dashboard 2. Both of us have uninstalled Hamachi 3. Restarted his PC after all of the above multiple times. This is extremely frustrating and weird and we have no idea what to do.

Also: Reinstalled Hamachi and removed some "cache" on his Hamachi settings

Also bumping this because this happened to me as well.

Was going to play in a friend's minecraft world, he wanted me to join through LAN. So I downloaded Hamatchi.
I thought it was weird when I installed it and saw one of my administrator only programs turn into a white sheet but thought something else had happened since I had some lag right before that.

Nope. It got rid of all my admin privileges in D as well. I can't take screenshots nor screen record now. So that's fun -_-)
I can, however, manually give myself access to my files. It's just gonna take a while.

I also see that now I have four more "groups" added to the group list in Advanced Sharing (ie. trusted installer), when before it used to only be two (Users/Administrator). I did look them up and found out that they were part of Windows (but if you're reading this and have doubts, double check!) and one was a default hidden user.

I uninstalled Hamachi hoping that it would solve the issue but it didn't, thankfully this just ended up being minor inconvenience for me.

...And to put salt in the wound we didn't even have to use LAN/Hamachi because it wouldve made the world laggy and cause it to run worse after some time.

Hopefully posting here will help others see that this has happened to several people now.

**Edit: I would also like to add that I have run a scan and no threats were found, just in case someone tried to say that I got malware. I downloaded Hamachi from its original site.

Hi,

Hamachi is only a VPN service, it creates another network that you can select to connect to. It does not have any built-in file transfer or file management features.

The Browse option in your Hamachi window allows you to access the shared resources on another Hamachi client, using the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks service.

GoTo does not provide technical support for this network service as it is not a GoTo product, and not a function of Hamachi itself. As a courtesy, we have linked articles for common setup and troubleshooting with regard to sharing over Microsoft Networks and Mac OS X.
