I started trying Minecraft Java Edition few days ago with a friend who wants to replay the game and maybe streaming on his channel.
Since I don't have a premium account (because I'm still trying the game), I decided to be the one in charge of making our private server but I quickly found some inconvenients, the most important of them being the RAM usage, which can't go further than 1GB.
We both can play safely and with no more issues than some slow loads at some point, but I'm scared that the server might crash some day and that wouldn't be nice considering the amount of non-saved work this game requires sometimes.
Is there a way for non-premium users like me to increase my RAM usage?
Here are my specs:
Minecraft Java Edition 1.14.1 (allways the latest)
Me: Non-premium user
My friend: premium user
RAM: 8GB DDR4
Storage: Both SSD and HDD
CPU: i3-7100 (not laptop)
Using Java to run the server and connecting via LogMeIn Hamachi with the latest updates allways (currently 1.14.1 for minecraft, vanilla) and running the game with Fenix Launcher.
My .bat file had this code written: java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.1.14.1.jar
I would like to at least increase it to 2048M but when I do that either the execution crashes when trying to make it or it loads with 1GB anyways.
