Forcing MFA - Testing and Preparing Users

Hello,

We are using LastPass Enterprise and have decided that we would like to force MFA requirement for all users.

I like to be prepared by testing the process using different accounts and making documents with images to ensure users are sufficiently prepared.

  1. Is there a way to force MFA for only specific users?
  2. Is there a video or document displaying what a user will see and be required to perform upon forcing MFA?
  3. Will there be any required action for users who already have MFA enabled?

Thank you,

Kurtis

Re: Forcing MFA - Testing and Preparing Users

Hi @Kurtis_365,

You could enable an MFA requirement policy, and when configuring the policy there is an "Applies to" section, where you can choose different options such as as Inclusive List of Users to add the names of individual users and/or groups for which this policy should be enforced. This will allow you to only enforce the policy for certain users, so if you'd like to test the process or create documents/guides to provide to users you can do this with these settings. For more details and steps on how to do this please see this article under the "Configure and enable a new policy" header: https://support.logmeininc.com/lastpass/help/add-and-manage-enterprise-policies-lp080002

Here's a guide for how Admins can enable Multifactor policies: https://support.logmeininc.com/lastpass/help/enable-multifactor-authentication-admins-lp010035

and here's a guide for users on how to enable Multifactor Authentication: https://support.logmeininc.com/lastpass/help/enable-multifactor-authentication-lp010002

Users who already have MFA enabled should not have any required action, unless you enable a policy which requires a specific method/MFA app and in that case any users not using that method would need to enable the required MFA method.

Re: Forcing MFA - Testing and Preparing Users

I've enforced specifiek users, that's really simple (as told below ) 🙂

Because we already pushed a MFA app to the company portal on the company phone, the uses only add the LP account and all was set.
