I've just used Authenticator backup temporarily to restore codes after deleting Authenticator to fix a problem with push notifications. But I do not want to use backups. I understand that they are convenient for many people, but in my view the central point of 2-factor is negated if my 2-factor codes are stored in the same place as my passwords! In the highly unlikely even of my Lastpass account being compromised, an attacker would be able to restore my 2-factor codes and use them.
But having switched off authenticator backups, and cleared Lastpass caches, the previous backup can still be restored to another device. I would like a way to remove and wipe the backup so it is not present in my Lastpass account.
