Hide empty folders

On a windows desktop you can switch from passwords to notes to other times simply by selecting the type of items you want to view.  However, when doing this I'm often left with are large number of empty folders since, for example, I only have notes in 4 folds but I have 20 folders with passwords.  It would really cleanup the display if we had the option to not display empty folders making it faster to find what I'm looking for.

Yes, yes, 1000 times yes. This drives me nuts when looking for payment cards or other things that I only have a few of. I have nearly 100 folders in various levels of nesting, but some card types I only have a few of... makes finding things annoying. Please add a feature to "hide empty folders" when not looking at the "All Items" view. Thanks!

I came here to post this same exact feature. I would love for empty folders to be hidden when filtering by folder type. At the very least, make it a simple option that can be turned on/off.

Thanks!

FWIW - the iOS app does this very very well. if you select a limited category like Payment Cards or Wi-Fi passwords, it only shows you the cards, grouped by category. it doesn't show you the 100 other empty categories. Hoping this gets considered for implementation into the web platform

This is the MOST annoying thing about LastPass.  in fact it's the VERY REASON I just created a community account.  I signed up just to suggest thigs (complain about this! lol)

I find that in the Google Chrome Extention on Windows, when you look in "Passwords" or "Notes" or "Addresses" under "All Items", it DOES only show folders that have something in them.

However, on the Main Vault using a browser, whether you select "Passwords" or "Notes" or "Addresses", it shows ALL folders including Empty Ones even if they don't have anything for that Category.

I think I am asking a similar thing as others.  Would be nice to have the Main Vault folders, show similar to the Google Chrome Extension where it only shows folders you have content in.

Also, in the Google Chrome Extension, the "Passwords", "Notes" and "Addresses" should be on the main menu rather having to go one level down of selecting "All Items" first.  While it is good that the Main Vault has a folder of "All Items" which can include empty folders, the "Passwords", "Notes" and "Addresses" should only show folders that have content associated with them.

Thanks!

This drove me crazy until I discovered that once you select "Sort By:" as NAME , rather than FOLDER, it will remember this, and not show folders anymore.  The Chrome extension still makes you go through a folder layer, even when non-existent! ex: a payment card is not in a folder, you still click through "uncategorized" to get to it... Should be a quicker experience.  Setting records as "favorite" items does help for the ones you use most.

+1 - this might be the single biggest usability issue with LastPass - it pretty much makes the left-most entry types list be almost worthless 😞

absolutely. I talked to support about this at least 3 years ago. I can't believe they haven't implemented a better folder/sorting system yet.
We need an improved UI soon.

LastPass - how about a fix for this?

This is absolutely the biggest usability issue in LastPass. Please, please fix this.  Nobody wants to see empty folders except when trying to choose a folder to move something to, or when trying to manage folders (i.e. to delete empty ones). When you are in a specific category like payment cards, there will always be empty folders - allow us to hide them!
