Job Title vs Salutation

When a web form asks for my title, they are almost never looking for 'Mr'. They want to know my job title. Can we change this?

I agree! I never need to use my salutation, but I always need to provide my job title when registering for webinars and conferences.

Hello,

Could you try deleting the entry for the site with the form in question, and adding it back to your Vault using the Save All Entered Data option:

  • Go to the website with the form you need to force-save. On the page, fill in your credentials (username, email address, password, etc) but do not press login or advance to the next page.
  • Click the LastPass browser icon, then go to Add item > Save All Entered Data at the bottom of the menu.
Tip: For Internet Explorer users, click the active LastPass icon, then go to Tools > Save All Entered Data. All captured fields are displayed. If desired, enter more information and specify your desired settings for the item.
  • Click Save when finished
  • Once saved, when you return to the page LastPass should fill the data for you. You can also “force-fill” the info from the LastPass notification bar, or from the LastPass icon by selecting the site name at the bottom of the menu and then clicking “autofill”.

Thanks for trying, RachelO, but that doesn't help at all. I'm trying to use this for ALL webinar registrations, from all companies, not just those from one source. Your suggestion doesn't work for very many reasons. The main ones seem to be that that approach creates a password entry tied to a URL instead of an Address item in LP; the fields created from that approach for that particular webinar were named input_1, input_2, input_3, and so forth, which won't work on other sites; and some webinar registrations force open a new browser window without access to the LP icon and thus without the ability to invoke LP as instructed.

Thanks for the additional information. I've passed this idea along to our development team for consideration in future updates, as this would be a useful option to have.

Job Title is one of a few pieces of data that were lost when the LP upgrade took place. I used be able to autofill Known Traveler Number and others from custom fields; as far as I can tell this functionality is lost.

I would like to tell you that it is necessary for everyone to have a job, especially during such difficult periods as quarantine and lockdown because we are running out of money. Accordingly, in this case, I want to mention these resume services where there is a great diversity of examples of resumes. Open the link and make sure how useful this resource is.

Even though this thread is 3 years old, it's still relevant to this day. I totally understand your frustration when web forms ask for your ""title"" and you're not sure whether to put ""Mr."" or your actual job title. Unfortunately, this is just one of those things that we have to deal with when filling out online forms. However, if you feel strongly about it, you could try reaching out to the website and asking them to clarify what they mean by ""title"". In the meantime, have you considered looking into vocational training programs? It might be a good way to gain new skills and advance your career.
