Same issue here! I am positive my account recovery is set for my email... because I set it up that way and because I have emails from lastpass to this email, my primary, and secondary.
How can they tell paying customers "the only other solution is to create a brand new one," that is not a solution at all. That's a major problem. Seems I too will be finding an alternative and cancelling this service just as soon as I can figure out a workaround.
