Hi,
I am going to dig out my wife's old iphone and experiment. Feature on one platform doesn't always translate to another. I won't be able to get to this until later since I am working right now.
It would be nice if someone from the Logmein team can chime in, too? How in the world do you add an app.
Paul
Hello,
App developers are advised to associate their web domains with their mobile apps. This is the information iOS uses to ask the registered password manager for account information. In the absence of this information, you would have to search for an entry manually in your Vault.
In short, you would want to add an entry to your Vault for your desired app and use the URL for the app in the URL field of the new Vault entry and hope that the developers of that app correctly associated the app with the domain, so that LastPass recognizes and suggests this to use as your login credentials for the app in the bar above the keyboard where logins are usually suggested. Otherwise you would need to click the Key icon above your keyboard and manually find that entry in your Vault to fill in the password for that app.
Ok based on the comment from RachelO, in order for application to work, they have to associate a URL with the app or last pass won't pick it up. In the case of target app, it works because the app is associated with target.com. Something like Bank of America does not appear to work, probably because it has hidden its url or some other reason.

Do you have examples of sites that does not work so far? You have been able to get some apps to work?
Paul
You didn't state a site to test out. I did some testing on my side. In each case, I attempt to log into the app and see if lastpass will prompt you with an entry to the vault.
Best Buy App - Correctly added the user name and password.
Bank of America - did not offer an option to save
Jewel Osco Supermarket - correctly added the user name and password.
Target - Correctly added the user name and password
So to add the app, you will:
1. Bring up the App.
2. Login using the credential.
3. Get a prompt to save the credential to lastpass. Do so.
4. log out of app.
5. Log back into app using last pass and you will get the following message:
Do you want to use your <site> <site url> credential to fill "<app name>"?
6. Press fill, this links up your vault entry with the app. The next time you login, you won't get the prompt in #5.
Note that this only works if the app developer added an associate URL to the app. If they didn't as was the case with the Bank of America app, last pass will not pick it up. In step 3, you won't get a prompt to save the user name and password into last pass. If you don't get a prompt, there is no recourse, and you cannot use last pass to login except manually. Manual meets, you copy the user name and password from last pass manually into the site.

I am afraid that it means the apps won't work with lastpass then. Based on what Rachel from Last Pass said, the app depends on the site having some sort of site ID. If the app doesn't have one, last pass won't pick it up. There would be no way to get it to work. For example, the app that work like Best buy has a site associated with it. The apps that do not work like Bank of America do not have a site id. I am thinking buddy bank and hype are both in the latter category.
Since auto fill does not work, you would have to copy the user name and password from last pass, which is annoying. If possible, does your app have a remain login option?
You can also try other password manager, but they are likely to have the same issue because they are likely to use the same mechanism. I tried bank of america app with enpass for example and it also did not work either.
Another alternative may be to use the shortcut app in ios to automate logging in, but that is practical only if you have a few items that are not working with last pass. I also haven't tried this so I don't know if it will work.
