Have had this problem for a while on my iPad. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I usually end up using LastPass on my phone to make a new password or open up the LastPass app directly and do a copy/paste routine. Really would be nice if you guys would fix this.
I erased the app, restarted the iPad, and reinstalled it. It did not fix the problem.
Hi @Aprocon,
Is your iPad updated to the latest software as well? We have had some users who needed to update the software on their iPad and then try uninstalling and reinstalling the LastPass app to fix issues.
Thanks for the information. If you have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and also making sure that Autofill is enabled correctly for LastPass following these steps (https://support.logmeininc.com/lastpass/help/how-do-i-enable-and-use-autofill-in-the-lastpass-passwo...) this may be a bug. So that our team can gather more details to hopefully fix this bug as soon as possible, please submit a bug report following the steps here: https://support.logmeininc.com/lastpass/help/how-do-i-report-a-bug-to-lastpass
This problem still exists on the latest LastPass app. I'm on iPhone 13 running iOS 15. This autofill window crashing problem has existed for years, yet LP still hasn't fixed it. At least when I had an iPhone 11 Pro with iOS 14, sometimes it would stay open long enough for me to do the search. But now with iPhone 13, the autofill window crashes within a few seconds every single time, no matter how many times I try. I have over 1,000 passwords saved, so maybe that's too many?
I wanted to see if this was an iOS problem that cannot be fixed by LP, so I created a free Bitwarden account, imported everything (went very smoothly), installed Bitwarden iOS app, and tried Bitwarden's autofill window. That one stays open and doesn't crash like LastPass does.
After some experimenting, this consistently happens when:
It sure looks like the iOS password extension is running out of memory and crashing when it generates the giant scroll list.
To help narrow this down so we can file bug reports: Is this consistent with everybody else's experience? How many passwords are in your vault, and can you make it happen with an app that pre-fills the domain name?
Same Issue, symptoms similar but, doesn’t seem to matter if the list is 2 passwords or 200. The pop-up will close in 2-5 seconds either way. Makes it impossible to add a password and tricky even to pick one if your not quick. Just re-installed it on iOS 15.1/iPad Pro, no change in behaviour. Need this to be fixed or will have to find another password manager. Please help.
Mine started behaving again, but I had to go to great lengths. Set aside an hour for this.
1. Exported everything from my LastPass account:
https://support.logmeininc.com/lastpass/help/export-your-passwords-and-secure-notes-lp040004
2. Full account reset - this will erase EVERYTHING, so be absolutely certain you completed your backup above
https://lastpass.com/reset_account.php
3. Log out of LastPass on all devices
4. Import backup
Log into LastPass in your browser, "Advanced Options," "Import," source "LastPass" and upload the file from step #1
If you neglected to log out of anything before resetting the account, you may encounter nonsensical errors or constant requests to log in despite already being logged in. Logging out and in again on the affected device will fix it.
