authenticator not working on ios - error please restart the app

Since this morning i discovered that the authenticator app is no longer working on my iphone.

I have no idea how i can access my mfa codes now and i really need access to them as soon as possible.

The error message i get is:
ERROR - please restart the app and the the app closes, when i restart same issue over again.

Restarting the phone did not work as well.

What to do ?

I apologize for the difficulty there. 

If you've already tried a full re-install of the Authenticator app on your iPhone, you may want to try disabling 2FA in your account settings at lastpass.com, and then re-enabling it again to trigger the reconnect.

will reinstalling remove all the stored mfa keys in the authenticator app? Because i will have big trouble if that would be the case. I have about 50+ mfa codes in that app.

Could you please answer my followup question? I need to know that my mfa codes wont be gone if i reinstall the app.

i had contact via twitter and the contact option in the appstore (mail). They ensured me that i could delete the app and reinstall it if i had back up enabled. It worked. issue is solved now.
