I'm also having the problem of this "feature" re-enabling itself constantly after I disable it.
This seriously needs to be fixed, between your security breaches and this I'm literally on my last nerve with lastpass and going cancel my subscription and move onto another solution.
Agree 100%. Why is this not fixed!
Using Chrome/Win10 I have disabled "Use improved save and fill" multiple times but like others in this thread, sometime later (days or week+) it re-enables. It is most likely to happen if I have been logged out of LP. And if that happens I will have been applying a Chrome update preceded by completely cleared cookies, cache and history. I'm just guessing but it would seem the "Use improved save and fill" option defaults to ON if the LP cookie/ies have been wiped.
It is not browser specific. I have the same problem with Chromium-based Brave and with Mozilla Firefox. It is clearly a LastPass bug, which they have decided to ignore. Perhaps it is time to start looking for a better password manager.
I may have found some limited success, but it has not worked every time. I removed the extension (in Chrome and Edge), rebooted, then reinstalled the extension, but doing so by first logging into Lastpass web site, and downloading the extension from there and re-installing the extension. After this go back and disable the "Use improved save and fill".
the final test is to reboot the pc again, and restart the browser to see if the extension remembers the disabled setting for "Use improved save and fill".
Good luck.
Pat
Please let us know if it remains turned off after rebooting and restarting browser. My experience is that it resets to ON every time I restart the browser.
I can't disable improved safe and fill because the option to enable or disable doesn't even appear under Advanced Options. It does in my daughter's vault, and we have the same premium user status, both use Firefox on Windows 11. I can't believe how bad this feature is, and to not have the option to disable is so frustrating. Why would the interface be different for me?
LastPass, why are we paying for such a poor interface?
That's strange. I would uninstall (not disable) the extension and then install it again.
LastPass is completely unusable since their latest update. I have a team of people using it and all of them complain all the time how bad and unusable it is. The software basically doesn't function as advertised any more.
How do we cancel our subscription and get a refund. I am guessing as they have lost so much money from their multiple data breaches that we have no recourse now. Game over, thanks for your money, have a nice day.
Used to be such an advocate of LastPass and now I have egg on my face.
