Lastpass auto-renewal silently failed

One would assume that taking money from paid users is something a company that wants to make profit should be reasonably good at. But it seems not to b the case. Not only my auto-renewal failed, I've got absolutely no indication of that (e.g. via email) until the apps decided to lock me out of premium features. That is very disappointing and makes me question the choice of Lastpass as a password manager. I've emailed the support but have not heard back from the either.
