Logmein have really broken what was a perfectly good product. Why would a software company do that? Surely you must have some quality control before you unleash bad updates?
Additionally, it doesn't find credit card fills anymore and there is no obvious way to even bring them up. I had to copy/paste from an edited item in the vault. This thing is such a huge step back, it's unbelievable. I'm seriously considering 1Password and Bitwarden. I've been on the edge for a while (have my whole family on LastPass, so it's not a quick and simple switch for one), but this crap pushed me over the edge. I now have to show everybody how to disable this piece of expletive.
Thanks to @marcinst for posting the fix! LastPass should have put this switch in a much more visible and obvious location, or at least sent out a notification with this information before switching to their broken interface.
Agree, the new extension is horrible. I used to be able to quickly copy/paste my userID/password for the current page from the extension for sites that can't auto-fill. Now I have to open the whole vault, search for the site and copy from there.
Does LastPass not do any UX testing before they release these changes?
Not only do I wonder if the developers don't test these changes before releasing, things like this make me wonder if they actually use their own products. Presumably if you're a LastPass dev you have a lot of passwords you want to keep secure. If you had encountered this molasses-slow search and having to go to your vault every time you had to update an entry for at least two months now, would you just shrug and keep putting up with it? Or would you think, "This thing we did isn't working and has made things worse. It's wasting our time. We have to roll it back until we get it fixed"? Even if you didn't care that your millions were experiencing the same frustration, wouldn't you and your co-workers do it for yourselves? That would be the rational thing to do. I'd love to hear them explain this.

That would be fun 🙂
I've given up on LastPass. Have been using 1Password for a month now, and it's all around a better experience. I've been with LastPass almost since the beginning, but they aren't ahead anymore -- for quite a while now.
Yes! Thank you for that! The new extension UI was terrible. I'm so glad there is a way back.
I'd like to point out that in addition to not saving the setting... 9 times out of 10, when I try to disable "improved" save and autofill, it COMPLETELY crashes my browser forcing me to restart it.
Yep, I have had all the above issues - nothing works to fix them.
The disabled options keep re-enabling themselves.
And the crashing just gets worse ands worse.
Have deleted Lastpass, even though my yearly renewal only just went through.
(And no chance of a refund, even though tech support admit the issues are indeed there!!!!)
Totally Appalling!
Have moved over the Bitwarden, and so far the totally free version is far better than the Premium Lastpass!
But as they only charge $1- per year, I suspect I will go for that.
