Opera Extension failing.

Hello,

A few days ago Opera reported the Lastpass plugin to be corrupted and in need of “repair” on one of my systems. Clicking the provided repair button i am greeted with the new user panel¹. Clicking the tiny “already user“ and logging in Lastpass works for a while until it is reported to be corrupted again. At first I thought it to be a problem with the particular computer but now a 2nd computer has started to show the same behaviour.

Any ideas on what went wrong?

¹ On as side not: I consider showing a large “new user” panel first with only a tiny ”exiting user” reference to be quite bad user experience for two reason:

1. The majority of users are not “new” but existing. Good UX should cater to the majority use cases and not the minority.


2. This kind over overwhelmingly large “new user” panels lead to my father having 5 Skype accounts be the time he died. Users should be encouraged to use there existing accounts.

Having problems with Lastpass on Opera.
I have tried reinstalling the extension on Opera but it keeps telling me that Lastpass has been corrupted. When you try to "repair" it just disables the extension altogether.
Looked at various discussions about this and similar problems but nobody seems to have any answers.

Mind you: if I use “repair” I can use the extension for another half an hour until it fails again.

Just wanted to say me too.

Maybe this is a clue, I dont know. In Opera my bookmarks bar keeps getting added, I hide it because I dont use it but it pops back up in an hour or so. I think it said it had issues too that needed fixing, but not the last few times though...

Those are new issues, a week perhaps?

Maybe not the best solution but it seems to work:
Install the Opera Addon "Download Chrome Extension", then install the Lastpass Extension Version 4.3 from Chrome Webstore.

Quick check: Version 4.1.45 von lastpass — Yes. it looks like the version in the Opera extension is outdated.

because the opera extensions is outdated and broken [url=https://forums.lastpass.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=282425:2h62wdsz]LastPass needing “repair” on Opera[/url:2h62wdsz] I decided to install the Chrome extension instead. this can be done with [url=https://addons.opera.com/de/extensions/details/download-chrome-extension-9/?display=en:2h62wdsz]Download Chrome Extension[/url:2h62wdsz].

As I already mentioned in [url=https://forums.lastpass.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=282425:2h62wdsz]LastPass needing “repair” on Opera[/url:2h62wdsz] the user experience for existing users trying to login for the first time on a new device is horrible in Version 4.1.45.87. Much to my dismay I found out that user experience for existing users trying to login is actually even worse in Version 4.3.0. Outright abysmal.

Please improve.

The Opera browser extension is broken.
I get a big black bar at the top of my window from Opera
>Your extension was disabled because it is corrupted. Go to the extensions manager to repair it.

I've tried the repair feature twice and resinstalling it, no luck.

Fix asap please.
