SCAM? "Claim your last pass family account" email

Last week I received an email with this subject, from replies@m.lastpass.com

and it said:

Through your employer, you have access to a complimentary LastPass Families account. Claim your free LastPass account, which includes a personal vault plus 5 additional account seats to share with your friends and family.

I have had a personal premium account for several years. I've thought about upgrading to family to push my older kids to use a password manager instead of the same weak passwords for everything, so it caught my eye.

  Looks totally legit in the email too, and the link to sign up appears to be a lastpass.com address, completely with https, but then when I hover over it the address becomes https://trackgoto.com followed by a lot of digits

which seems suspicious.

What really made me hesitate first, though, was that my employer does not use Lastpass AND I have a different email for my employer so that's weird.

Anyone else get this?

Hi @Kcat65,

LastPass Families is being offered as a free benefit to employees of companies that use our services, although I would expect that your employer would have notified you first before invitations were sent out.

That's interesting, b/c my employer does not and never has used Last Pass.  I checked with our IT person before posting here and she verified that my employer has no accounts with LP.  In addition, this was sent to my personal email, the one which I use with LP (as well as for many other sites) and not my work email. So while LP may be offering this, I still believe the email to me was a phishing scam, as the URL was quite different when I hovered over it, vs what it was showing as a link.
