Apologies for my delayed response. Our development team is investigating this issue and working on a resolution. While we don't have an ETA or any news to share just yet, I will update this thread once I have more news to share of a solution or update to resolve this issue. Thank you for acknowledging that the problem exists and is being worked on.
Since most users are not on the support chat system, can you please make sure that support is aware of it, so when users open a ticket, they are informed that it is a known issue and engineering is working on it.
Your last message is 3 weeks old and the problem has still not been solved. Why are we now paying much more for LastPass and receiving inferior support??
How hard can it be to revert the changes which were made wrongly in the last update?

Sorry for the delay in updates. Our developers are still investigating and finding a resolution for this issue. So that I can provide some more updated info, are you still experiencing this issue on the newest update of the LastPass extension? (v4.61 for Chrome, Edge, Opera, v4.58 for Firefox)
It is still a problem in Chrome.
Additionally when a user is not logged in, goes to a page requiring log in details and clicks the dots in the username box that then rings up the lastpass login form. After entering the lastpass password the vault opens. This is nearly more annoying and useless than the initial issue.
