shared family item not syncing...?

I have an item that was shared with me... the originator has made changes but I dont see them...   any ideas on what it takes to get this to work?

Hi @kevinvinv, welcome to the community.

• Once an item has been shared, if the owner updates the shared item since the last time it was shared, the owner must share it again to ensure the recipient has the latest version of that item.

Seriously?  Woa... I could have sworn I saw some auto-update in the past.  Are you sure about this?   Not a cool feature if so...  major bummer in fact...
