Some Kernel Extensions Won’t Work in macOS 11 Big Sur
As of macOS 11, Hamachi no longer works in macOS. The above article lists changes in APIs that need to be made (probably not an exhaustive list). Apple seems to be now disallowing direct kernel modules. (This is probably why when I directly upgraded, it would only boot in Safe Boot and kernel panicked otherwise.)
@AshC Do you have an update for us on this?
@CaptainChunk The typical timeline is a few weeks after the OS is officially supported by Apple.
Beta versions of Big Sur have been out for a couple months, and it would be nice to have zero-day support of Hamachi running kext-less on Big Sur.
When shall we expect a version compatible with macOS 11 Big Sur?
This happens every single time - instead of sorting this out when the OS is in beta or even public beta, the support appears weeks or months afterwards.
Don't expect it to be different this time!
Just installed Big Sur, and to my delight LogMeIn Hamachi works well. No issues.
Apple (rather than LMI) have fixed this problem. The issue where you couldn't click to approve the kernel extension was resolved in the release candidate.

Agree it still needs an update so it's no longer reliant on a kernel extension, but it is now usable.
Well I'll be damned, you're right. It does work...which really makes no sense, as Apple has stated for months that kernel extensions will no longer work or be supported. Maybe they had a change of heart.
Quick request to the LMI developers... Please add a white icon for dark mode + big sur! It's a little weird looking in its current black.
