Is it possible to disable the "file transfer" option within LogMeIn Central' platform or at the user level?

You'll need to create a new registry entry, then restart LogMeIn.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\LogMeIn]
"AllowFileTransfer"=dword:00000000
this works perfectly for me but it has to be done on EVERY host that you want to disable file transfers on.

I'll give it a shot.
I tried this setting and what I found is that it disabled File Manager from the menu.
However, even with this registry setting, you could click on the C: drive from the Dashboard and access a rudimentary form of File Manager. I verified that it still allowed me to download and upload files.
