Is it possible to start Goto Meeting (GoTo.exe) in command line with a specific camera?
Hi @Peterzz welcome to the GoTo Community.
The command line args do not support specifying a webcam.
Is there a reason why you would want to use this method? The best session join time you get is by letting it run and join meetings from a calendar integration. The last webcam from last session will be used then.
We sometimes have problems that GoTo Meeting does not recognize the camera or says "webcam is used by another application", although the camera is free (Windows camera app runs without problems) and that it sometimes takes a long time until the camera is recognized and active.
@Peterzz thanks for getting back to me and I'm sorry to hear that.
If you have recently used a different application, you can open your computer's Task Manager to check for background processes that might be using the webcam. Force-quitting any suspicious processes can help resolve the issue.
The background processes thing is just one problem.
Is there a command (for Windows) to kill all "camera processes" before opening GoTo Meeting?
Another problem for many users is the time it takes till the camera is ready to use. It can take up to 3 minutes for GoTo Meeting to activate the camera.
Hi @Peterzz thanks for getting back to me.
I'm not sure what is going on here and why this appears to be happening with multiple users. My recommendation for the best course would be to contact customer support who can take a look at your system and review what is going on that's causing the system to not recognize cameras.
