Edge will not currently autofill passwords when it is in IE mode. With IE reaching end of life in June 2022, I assume that many products will have to move to using Edge in IE Mode.
Unfortunately, Microsoft has explicitly said that they will not be supporting extensions with page interactions in IE Mode. So you will likely need to Search from the extension drop down and copy / paste.
