Using crypt hardware wallets to sign in

Something that would be interesting and possibly useful is the ability to unlock your account with your crypto hardware wallet.

So at this time if you aren't logged into your computer, phone, etc and you forget your password completely. You might have to jump through hoops which could take multiple days to get back into your account.
If we could take a crypto hardware wallet in theory and use it, we could in theory use that to prove we are who we are. What could happen is those of us with a crypto wallet can sign a smart contract linking our account with the crypto address.

In the future when you needed to get back into your account, you can take the wallet and sign another smart contract which shows we are who we say we are.

For those of you who don't know, things like hardware wallets. If you don't have it physically and the ability to unlock it. Then you can't sign the given smart contract or really do anything other than seeing the value on the addresses. This making it where you need the physical device in hand to prove you are who you say you are.
