What are the video conferencing issues that GoTo is currently experiencing?

Last week whilst using my GoToMeeting room and this week when using GoToWebinar I am getting a message informing me that 'we are currently experiencing issues with our video conferencing' from the GoTo system. I am assuming this is related to the fact that I do not currently have the option to turn my camera on. This is an issue because I am running a lot of online training at the moment and I always have my camera on whilst teaching so I need this resolved ASAP.

Please can you explain to me what the problem is and when I can anticipate it being resolved?

    Glad to hear it was working today. I'm not aware of any issues with the app removing the Camera and it's strange that it would not be available. If the issue persists, we could take a look at the logs, but there are a few things we would need to know like: 

    • Are you using an external webcam or one built-in with your PC/Mac? 
    • For GTW are you using the classic version or the new GoTo app (like this screenshot)
    • Where are you looking that the camera option isn't available? Is it just not there, grayed out, turned off?

    Hi Kate,

    the issue is not with my camera permissions. The issue is with the software which is removing the webcam option. I have all the other options available to me as organiser - microphone, screen share, remote control etc but the webcam icon is absent and there is no reference to webcams in any of the menu's or tabs. Its like the entire functionality has disappeared.

    This happened on the 14/1 in GoToMeeting, but during the call the functionality was randomly restored. It re-occurred yesterday 20/1 in GoToWebinar and never resolved despite exiting and re-joining. Today thankfully it has been fine.

    Welcome to the Community. 

    There were issues on 1/19 that have since been resolved, but that shouldn't be associated with your camera not having the option to turn on. 

    Usually, if you can't turn on your camera it has to do with permissions. Have you reviewed this article?

    If permissions are set, can you provide more information about the situation? What type of device are you using for example?
