Am I the only one .....

Am I the only one who is fed up with GTT FORCING CUSTOMERS TO SWITCH TO THE TERRIBLE 'NEW VERSION'! I have tested it and it's full of bugs and looks like a child's online game. The only thing that worked properly is the 'send an emoji reaction' which is ridiculous and not appropriate for a serious business training session. I DO NOT WANT TO USE THIS VERSION - please allow customers the choice!

GTT deleted my previous post saying the same thing so I'm guessing the don't want to hear it!

  • Same here!!  I am having issues when my clients are trying to join the session through the desktop app, it asks them to log in or give a meeting ID. I'm doing a TRAINING, not a meeting, so it keeps throwing an error.

I can't have them give me control of the keyboard and mouse because they have to go back and join through the browser. I hate the new version, there are way too many bugs!!!

    Hi Glenn

Thank you for responding, I appreciate it.

We have in fact spoken before, possibly a year or 18m ago, about this very same thing, GTT 'forcing' customers to use a version of the platform that is far inferior to what had gone before. Just because the 'majority of our GoTo Training customers have been using the GoTo App experience for some time' it does not necessarily mean they like it or are happy to do so; they may just feel they have no option. Coercion is not the same thing.

When I thoroughly tested the 'new experience' when it was first released it was found wanting, especially for a business needing to project professionalism through the platforms it uses. In fairness to GTT, they were responsive to their customers' needs and feedback, and offered the option in the settings for their customers to use the 'Classic' version. This builds a great customer relationship.

On recent testing, I have found the 'new' version to be no more satisfactory than previously tested. Some basic issues included:

    • the attendees' audio did not work [they could hear me and I couldn't hear any of them]
    • polls & tests did not work for them [many could not see them, even when they did everything the onscreen error message suggested - close side panels, full-screen, turn off camera etc. which was never needed for the classic version]
    • when making an attendee the presenter they were unable to share their screen

Ironically, what did work, was the ability to 'send a chat emoji' - I'd prefer a stable, functioning platform over the ability to send floating heart emojis if that's OK.

I'm not against innovation at all, I love it! What I am vehemently against is paying customers being used to 'beta-test' poor systems and having no choice in the matter. You cannot tell me that with the amount of sophisticated technical and development resources GTT has at it's fingertips, they cannot offer the option for customers wanting to keep their sessions stable and professional, to continue to use the Classic interface.

Customer choice builds long term loyalty, and I know, some people will say 'you can go elsewhere', but we have been using GTT for many, many years and have introduced others to using the platform. I'm a bit embarrassed at doing that now to be honest. How can we turn this around?

    Kind regards

    Hi Jane_Moore,

I noticed that our SPAM filter quarantined your posts so none of them have published.

The majority of our GoTo Training customers have been using the GoTo App experience for some time now, so the Classic experience is finally being retired and is no longer being offered.
