VRLDO thanks for the additional information.
I will monitor chat behavior during my next chat-filled meeting. One thought is to use two monitors. They could leave the chat window open in flex mode and keep it out front.
Can you explain "flex mode"? I use 3 monitors and have this problem. Thank you.
I am using Windows 11 on a thinkpad x1.
[ I'm not sure if anyone will see my other post, so problem is listed below ]
The desired behavior is that within the chat window, when users send chat messages, the window scrolls to show the new messages as they are posted. That way, the instructor can see new messages as they are posted, with no interaction with the chat window needed. New messages appear.
The behavior that I see: when users send new chat messages, they do not appear in the chat window. The chat window gets a scroll bar, but the view does not change. The instructor can see new messages only if they move to the chat window and use the scroll bar to scroll down to see new messages. New messages cannot be seen unless the instructor actively scrolls down to them. Often new messages are missed because the instructor has not manually scrolled down every few minutes to see them.

Hi trainerbears
Welcome to the Community.
The original post mentions information copied from a different app doesn't paste into the chat section, so I don't believe this is the same issue.
Flex mode is when you select Pop out on the bottom right of the toolbar. Once Pop-out mode is selected you can select which windows you want to see, which would allow for a bigger window to view chat.
Press the three dots, select Chat, and it will appear in it's own window.
From my test, the scroll bar in the chat window features the last message sent, older messages may not be visible unless you scroll up. If the chat window is not showing enough messages, you can try lengthening the window to display more at once. You will note from this image the top is cut off because the older message scrolled up. I've noticed this behavior in both pop-out and merged mode.
I'm using Windows 11, Thinkpad as well so not sure why you are experiencing a different behavior. Are you using the new GoTo app?

Respectfully, that was not OP's problem. They said
Once they copy and paste from GoTo into Teams, new messages do not show up in the GoTo chat.
The problem is not about pasting into goto. The problem is about new messages not showing up in goto.
