Can you have attendees in GoToWebinar talk or text "chat" to each other during a live 500 attendee event??
If you can't - PLEASE - change it so they can. It is terrible that there is no way to have the attendees interact with each other -
We have a weekly webinar on the same day, and same time EVERY week. Our clients like to be able to come to the event and interact with each other - and with the GoToMeeting there is no way to do that.
Only the organizer can see the "Questions" from attendees.
Let us know if there are plans to FIX this, thanks!

- datachick10 years agoNew MemberThat's what we try to do, But many enterprise environments block of forbid access to social media during working hours. Then there's the issue that not all our target audience uses social media.
We are trying to make our webinars engaging, Having to point them to some place outside the webinar is less than engaging.
We don't need to support Private messages. Just public chat. So sharing with ALL is fine. - Mel McMurrin110 years agoNew MemberI agree this is a needed feature. At least a single group chatroom anyway. (A 1000 attendee dropdown list for private chat would be cumbersome!) As a work-around, we run a simultaneous Twitter chat with a hashtag (also could do a Facebook chat.) This not only solves the problem, but has added marketing benefits (assuming you want a public conversation.) You can make Twitter stream visible on your screenshare in GTW. Requires a dedicated Tweeter/organizer for large webinars.
- Mel McMurrin110 years agoNew MemberTwitter with a hashtag can work... so long you want the conversation public (which has its marketing benefits!)
- datachick10 years agoNew MemberAnd we need attendees to be able to communicate with each other...not just broadcasts from presenters.
- datachick10 years agoNew MemberI can't believe we've had to wait so long for this feature. I do not like any of the other platforms, but something as simple as group chat is going to force us to move away.
- Dan Holme10 years agoNew MemberWe are new customers to GoToWebinar and we are SHOCKED that webinars don't offer attendee chat. We are already looking at other alternatives, which is sad as there are so many reasons to like GTW. But in this social world, lack of interactivity between attendees is a show stopper for us,
- Ralph Rogers10 years agoNew MemberI fully agree. This is a feature that would be very welcomed!
- Tom Nikkola10 years agoNew MemberIs there any update on this? It seems like it's been requested for a very long time, long enough that chat could have been added to the system by now.
- Stephanie B10 years agoNew MemberAny update on this? We just moved to Webinar from Meeting and would like this feature, it is a group under 100
- Stephanie B10 years agoNew MemberI am with a group that was on GoToMeeting and just switched to GoToWebinar and we really really need the chat feature. We love the new question feature but our group is so used to personal interactions. We have less than 100 people and want this tunred on. Ive see something about 100+ not having it, has it been enabled for under 100 webinars? Or are we going to have to make everyone panalist to get the feature to work as a workaround?
