Some of our users have used GoToMeeting as a method of recording audio interviews with various speakers, but have recently commented that the audio quality had never been as good as what they were wanting, despite having high quality audio setups on their end with no issues during the recording, and in other programs. The meetings are always audio-only, and done via cloud recording. My questions are:

Although I'm not sure what quality they're looking for, GoToMeeting audio should not have more than a half second lag if their internet speeds are broadband.
There should be no difference between a cloud vs. local recording, though I would still test them out to see if there are any connection problems from their network.
GoToMeeting is designed for audio to be combined with video for these recordings, though not necessarily webcams. In this regard, these recordings will always have a still frame associated with them, and it cannot be disabled.
As far as best practices go, I would also test the difference between their microphone set up vs. dialing in from a land-line telephone. Furthermore, if you hear any problems with the line while in session. , there is a built-in feature in GoToMeeting where users can report audio problems to our engineers.

The latency has not been an issue, just specifically the captured audio was not at a high enough bitrate/resolution/clarity to what they had as their standards. From what I had tested with them, the meetings functionally worked fine, they had just wanted to get a higher quality of recorded audio than they were getting, as they were planning to use the recordings for other audio projects. GoToMeeting will still work out for them when it comes to standard meetings, but they had just opted to use Skype for Business instead for recordings, as the same setup provided a higher quality audio recording experience.
