we are using GoToMeeting for about a year now and yesterday two users called because their computer has shut down because of overheating, while being in a Meeting. Is anybody experiencing the same? Any idea why this is happening now?
@Tapsy I apologize for the recent attendee disruptions.
Do you know anything about the overheating devices?
What GoToMeeting software version was being used at the time?
@Tapsy You might want to ensure they have closed all unused background programs, as well as visit the PC's manufacturer website to check for all available driver updates.
One other way to keep the processing power down would be to dial into the GoToMeeting audio via telephone instead of VoIP.
@Tapsy We've brought this experience up with the GoTo team, and are concerned it may be more widespread. If you are able, please gather log files from the affected machines, click my Community name, and send the files in a private message so we can review them.
It is widespread. I cannot attach .txt files through here, but I do have the log of my BSOD crash today. I am attaching a picture of my system specs and my BSOD. Something is broken in GoTo Meeting.
BSODs are typically the result of hardware or driver issues, in the case of GoToMeeting we are using both your video and audio hardware and drivers. I would recommend first looking up the code Windows displayed regarding this BSOD, Microsoft should have an article listing the common causes. I would also check for updated video and audio drivers for your computer.
