I am getting this message while sign-in gotomeeting on a desktop client

Recently I am getting this message when I try to sign-in through GoToMeeting desktop client,  since my IE is outdated I want to make  Chrome as my default browser, can anyone help on how to switch to it.

What operating system and Explorer version are you running there?

I'm having windows 7 pro edition and IE 8 but I only use Chrome.

Is there any problem updating Explorer or making Chrome your default web browser?

Yes, there is a problem in updating by IE browser, also on Chrome I carried out the settings you suggested still its picking the IE browser as default, How can I switch to Chrome?
